Overview
A practical workshop focussed on experiencing the Rainbow Map as both therapist and client, interspersed with short sections of theory and with sessions for questions, answers and reflections.
Content
During the workshop you will be introduced to:
-
The Rainbow Map, gaining first hand experience of working with it in support of your reflections on if and how you might choose to integrate it into your practice modality.
-
The Trigger Flag and Trigger Cycle and an opportunity to experience the therapeutic possibilities they create from both the therapist's and client's perspectives through the Rainbow Map practice sessions.
-
A model of the human system that does not use complex jargon or concepts. Therapists who learn about the Reflective Mind and Reactive Brain/Body model report finding it to be a useful psychoeducational tool. It helps clients reduce the mystery of their reaction to themselves, others and their environment and provides another catalyst for their work in therapy and between sessions.
-
The acronym FOPPI which has been developed to provide a clear and jargon free way to help clients understand and recall how their evolved and ancient Reflective Mind and Reactive Brain/Body system reacts to threat in the modern world that may be contributing to unwanted outcomes in their lives.
Support Materials
-
At least one week prior to the workshop you will receive an email with a link to the workshop notes which are highly rated by participants. These need to be printed out before the workshop, or you can request a copy to be posted to you if your printer does not support doubled side printing.
The notes are very carefully designed to support each experiential element of the workshop and also hold optional pre workshop reading. Many participants have appreciated an early opportunity to review the material in support of their learning during the day.
-
Following the workshop, you will have free and ongoing access to the password protected Therapists' Resources Section of the Rainbow Map website. This provides additional background materials, audio resources and downloads of the latest versions of the Rainbow Map and the Aide-Memoire in addition to a Members' Forum where questions and issues can be raised with fellow members of the website.
Background Information
-
The Reflective Mind and Reactive Brain/Body Model underpins the design of the Rainbow Map and the workshop. It has also been developed to support the quality of the therapeutic relationship through the sharing of expertise and power in the therapy room.
-
The integration of the Rainbow Map and workshop into a wide range of practice modalities offers therapists and their clients additional opportunities to reinforce existing resources and create new ones. Awareness of their Trigger Flag and Cycle enables clients to activate these resources more reliably, which supports their psychological robustness and role in the rebalancing of their Reflective Mind and Reactive Brain/Body system.
-
The anonymous feedback collected from participants helps refine the Rainbow Map workshop and maintain the goal of delivering "exceptional value for money".
